Sweet Shelby was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern Ca. by a 501(c)3 Rescue in Northern California. Rescue For Pet Sake took Shelby in, sight unseen knowing she would die if they did not take her. When Shelby arrived in Northern Ca. the next night the rescue noticed something was not right about her and took her to the vet immediately the next morning. Shelby had some tests preformed and has come up positive for having a deadly liver shunt. Recently Shelby has had a spay surgery and they were not able to find a Liver Shunt and did a liver biopsy. Recently Shelby biopsy and lab results have come in and were completely normal. At this point in time the vet thinks that's Shelby has neurological problems that she has had from birth. Shelby has motion problems, is partially blind and has seizures(none recently). With donations Shelby will be able to get further testing and help us nail down any issues. She is so sweet and loves to give kisses. She gets along with cats and dogs, children you name it. Shelby is very fragile and need to be in a very safe area with proper supervision. If your interested in Shelby and feel that you have the proper home for her call us at (530)263-3331 we would love to hear from you. Donations can be sent to Rescue For Pet Sake P.O. Rescue For Pet Sake started in 2011 with an amazing dog in Georgia named Olive. Pam Gorman and Bev Albright, co-founders of Rescue For Pet Sake, saw a picture of this poor girl on Facebook and they knew that without someone to help, Olive would die in a matter of days. Once they were committed to rescuing Olive she was safe and about 3 weeks, and several dozen phone calls and emails later, Olive arrived in Grass Valley Ca. and before the day was up Olive was going to live with a new family that adored her. More recently Pam was able to visit with Olive. It was a joyful reunion and we were all happy to hear that Olive is doing very, very well in her new home.
